Through Routeco Know How, we bring together technical insight, operational strength, and a passion for continuous improvement to help simplify complexity and deliver lasting value for our customers.
As logistics development manager for the Routeco Group, Charlie plays a key role in shaping how our supply chains and operations function across the UK and Europe. Having spent 11.5 years at Routeco building a career from warehouse operative to champion, supervisor, and warehouse and customer services manager before stepping into his current group role, he brings a deeply grounded, operational perspective to every challenge.
For Charlie, Routeco Know How is centered on true partnership rather than just making a sale. It means looking at the bigger picture to support customers with their actual needs.

It means supporting customers in their needs and not just selling them products - and that’s from the technical teams that go out to customers to us here in the warehouse. We’ve had multiple customers come in to go through our operations and processes, and we try to support them on that. We’re not trying to sell things to a customer; we’re trying to help with the whole solution, whether that’s down to logistics problems or even when they’re purchasing goods.
Staying ahead of regulatory and logistics shifts
In the fast-moving world of logistics - particularly with complex import and export regulations following Brexit staying up to date is crucial. Charlie relies on Routeco's dedicated learning and development team to identify and coordinate necessary training courses. By proactively assessing regulatory changes and ensuring his team is fully equipped, Charlie keeps Routeco's supply chain running smoothly across international borders.
Putting logistics expertise into action
When a customer faced major issues shipping goods to their end users because they lacked an internal import/export team, Charlie and his team provided an immediate, practical solution. They took on the paperwork, processed the shipments through Routeco's provider on the customer's behalf, and ensured the goods reached their destination without costly delays.
When communicating intricate logistics or supply chain data, Charlie keeps his strategy straightforward:
I think the main thing is knowing your audience and knowing who you’re presenting to, so you make sure the information is clear to that audience. You adapt depending on what situation you’re in to give them the clear information they need.
Having risen through the ranks over more than a decade, Charlie is a prime example of the development opportunities available at Routeco. Starting as an operative and now overseeing logistics strategy across both the UK and Europe, he appreciates a company culture that actively invests in its people.
This company has given me plenty of development opportunities which I’ve taken. They give everyone development - if you really want to go for it, you can. Look at my position now, I started as an operative and now looking after things in Europe as well as the UK. Routeco really gives you the skillset to grow.”
Routeco Know How goes far beyond simply having the answers. It is built on operational excellence, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous growth - finding practical, hands-on ways to support our customers at every stage of their journey.
That's how we turn expertise into action.
That's Routeco Know How.
