Routeco Central Distribution Centre
Our central distribution centre is the heart of Routeco’s operations. Our 16,000ft warehouse, with a 6,000ft mezzanine, is based at our head office in Milton Keynes and is busy six days a week ensuring our customers get the products they order when they need them. Order by 6pm and we can guarantee in stock products arrive the next day.
Innovation is a key focus to our team and we invest in new technology to ensure we can pack goods accurately and efficiently.
We use scan guns for picking, receiving and putaway. There are two automatic strapping machines for pallets and boxed goods and we’ve invested in wire guided fork lift trucks that reduce risk of accidents of damage.
We use automation where we can, including a pallet wrapper and strapper.
The team at Routeco is experienced and we encourage training to improve skills and knowledge. We use a four-eye process which means orders are not picked and packed by the same person to reduce errors and improve accuracy.
We’re always looking for new ways to be more sustainable. Customer orders are sent in 100% recycled bubble wrap and black and clear wrap is made from recycled material. We have created bespoke boxes which enable us to pack efficiently and avoid wasted space.

A flexible approach to delivery
Having a central warehouse provides better stock control and ensures there’s a higher level of goods available. We constantly evaluate the service provided by our carrier partners to ensure a speedy, efficient and sustainable delivery. Orders made by 6pm are delivered by the next working day and if a urgent need arises, we will work to find a same day solution. Our teams work closely with customers to respond to requests and meet bespoke requirements such as numbered boxes, paperwork attached to the outside of the box to help customers process deliveries. We also operate an out of hours callout service.
This service is used for customers that need stock urgently out of hours, this typically is because of a machine break down. Call us on 01908 666777 and you'll be directed to someone who will be able to help you at any time of day.
