Drawing on an impressive eight-year journey across multiple areas of the company, Louis, our regional sales manager for Routeco’s southern region, embodies this ethos by bringing a deep, understanding of what our customers truly need, the challenges they face, and what they expect from a trusted distributor partner.
Louis started his Routeco career as an internal technical engineer before moving into roles as an account manager and proactive sales manager, stepping into his current position as regional sales manager. Alongside this hands-on career progression, he has also completed a diploma in electrical engineering and graduated from Routeco's sales development programme, building a deep, practical understanding of how to best serve our wide variety of customers.
That multi-faceted experience gives Louis a unique perspective on the automation and control industry.
Routeco Know How means we can do more than just shift a box or send out a parcel because an order came in. We have a wide range of technical and commercial support - from our account managers and product sales specialists to vertical support covering services and mechatronics. we have excellent partnerships with our manufacturing partners and we want to be that port of call to every customer and know that Routeco has the ability to support their business moving forward.
Supporting customers through industry change
Within the automation and control industry, standards and regulations change frequently. When those shifts happen, they often have a significant impact on our customers' operations.
Louis and his teams make it a priority to stay ahead of these changes and host events such as cyber security sessions focussing on NIS2 and updates to machine building regulations. By keeping customers informed early, Routeco ensures they have the best chance to adapt smoothly when new regulations come into force, backed by the full support of our manufacturing partners.
Putting expertise into action
Solving complex problems is one of Louis's favourite parts of the job, offering a firsthand look at how manufacturing plants operate and how things are made. One standout example involved an end user customer who needed comprehensive support across their entire plant, spanning PLCs, control systems, enclosures, and safety specifications.
Bringing together Routeco's internal team of specialists alongside expert guidance from our manufacturing partners, Louis helped deliver a complete, ground-up solution. It was a clear demonstration of Routeco's ability to pull together deep technical resources to solve a tricky problem.
