Sustainability week at Routeco

This week we’re celebrating sustainability. Taking care of the planet is one of  and as a global group, we have set ambitious targets to reduce our impact and invested €billions in modernising supply chains and digital platform to deliver products while reducing CO2 emission and waste to limit global warming. 

Big action requires big numbers but small changes that we can make every day can also contribute significantly. At Routeco, our warehouse in Milton Keynes packages and sends out products to customers each day. It was important to us to create a project team find innovative solutions  to help reduce our environmental impact and here are some of the things we’ve done so far.

Foldable boxes

We can fold our boxes in different ways to use space efficiently and ensure we don’t need to use any void fill packaging, saving 1 tonne of void fill per month!

Ocean blue bubble wrap

Blue Ocean void fill is a sustainable packaging material made from 100% recycled ocean-bound plastic. It replaces traditional bubble wrap and other fillers, reducing plastic waste in oceans. The environmental benefits include lower carbon emissions, reduced ocean pollution, and promoting circular economy practices.

If it can still protect the product, we’ll use it again!
