Caroline Grant – HR Manager & L&D Lead
Caroline manages operational HR at Routeco while also leading learning and development (L&D) for Routeco and its Sonepar UK sister company, Mayflex. After starting her career in admin roles and beginning her CIPD studies, she took a break to have children before returning to work as a part-time receptionist at Routeco.
Routeco Journey:
Started on reception in 2009, moved into HR admin and reception, then full-time training and admin, HR advisor, HR business partner, L&D business partner, L&D manager, and her current HR manager role. Routeco supported her through intense study to complete her CIPD Level 7 and MCIPD.
Caroline relished the opportunity to consider what area she wanted to specialise in and focussed on learning and development. She spearheaded Routeco's wellbeing strategy (born from her CIPD studies) and presented Routeco's mentoring programme on stage at Sonepar's international HR community. She’s passionate about self-directed learning, career progression, succession planning, and creating opportunities where employees can expand their roles and step up.
Her advice to her 18 year-old-self would be to study earlier, take all learning opportunities, and don't be scared to give things a go!
