Ross Melhuish – Senior Warehouse Supervisor

Ross manages day-to-day warehouse operations, overseeing 15 associates to ensure seamless next-day deliveries, international shipments, KPIs, and staff reviews. Before joining Routeco, he worked as a bricklayer, but bad weather led him to take a temporary warehouse role - inspired by his dad who worked at Rockwell Automation and saw the opportunity at Routeco.

Routeco Journey:

Joined in 2018 as a temp on the late shift, transitioning to a permanent warehouse operative, process champion, supervisor, and senior warehouse supervisor.

During his time here, Ross has completed an 18-month Level 3 Supervising and Team Leadership apprenticeship supported by Routeco, successfully balancing daily duties with coursework. A lot of his course was relevant to his role and he was easily able to apply it which has helped the logistics team achieve a staggering 99.88% picking accuracy.

He would tell his 18 year-year-old self that it’s okay to not know what you want to do; try a few different things and have the confidence to step outside your comfort zone.
